Exhibition design for Kunsthaus Dresden
VISUAL DESIGN & EXHIBITION CATALOGUE
CLIENT: KUNSTHAUS DRESDEN
Even though it's been a few years, I've chosen to include this project in my portfolio. I had the privilege of creatively contributing to an exhibition at Kunsthaus Dresden, showcasing female artists' perspectives on life's challenges. Alongside designing the exhibition layout and communication materials, creating the catalog was the biggest challenge. The catalog cover featured a unique visual element—a torn pantyhose—symbolizing the exhibition's themes. I still hold a fondness for this visual to this day.
MY ROLE: ART DIRECTION & DESIGN LEAD
MY TASK: VISUAL DESIGN & CATALOGUE LAYOUT
Cover design with spot varnish on gold.
The key visual originated from a spontaneous snapshot while having coffee in Kreuzberg. The perpetually torn pantyhose of a friend had become her trademark and wonderfully embodied the unconventional works of the artists and their precarious situations.
18 artists combined on 143 pages. The work was exciting. The introduction very lengthy. Finally … the exhibition … big fun.
